BADREDDINE KRIKEZ

I began my higher education in Casablanca in preparatory classes for «grandes écoles» in mathematics, physics and engineering, after which I went to engineering school. It was during the second year that I discovered my interest in social sciences and so I chose to change fields and study psychology at l’UFR de Reims Champagne Ardenne (France). On my return to Morocco, I decided to integrate a degree in sociology into the new sociology department of FLSH-AinChock. After obtaining my degree, I joined the research master’s degree in « Sociologie et Anthropologie de la ville » at the FLSH-Mohammedia.

It was during the last year of my degree and thanks to Professor Leila Bouasria, that I was able to benefit from my first field experience by participating as an investigator in a national study. Other equally enriching experiences followed, in which I was able to participate as a supervisor, member of the scientific committee, statistician and research assistant.

I finally joined this project as a research assistant, under the supervision of Professor Catherine Therrien. This allows me primarily to evolve as a young researcher, in particular through the practice of qualitative interviews: a tool that I have not been able to use on such a large scale until now.

Also, the topic of the project is found in a field in which I have a particular interest: studying migrations, and is the subject in which I chose to carry out my master’s thesis under the title: « Le choix des ressources chez les réfugiés syriens à Casablanca ».

This project therefore constitutes an opportunity for me to explore a subject that is new to me: the identity of the children of mixed couples in Morocco. The study of this subject is also unprecedented in the fields of social studies in Morocco and continues to bring me new and enriching knowledge.
