Deirdre Meintel

I am a professor in the Département d’anthropologie at the Université de Montréal. I was codirector and later director of the Centre d’études ethniques des universités montréalaises (CEETUM), a centre for the study of ethnic and religious diversity (2012-2018). I direct a research group on urban diversity, the Groupe de recherche Diversité urbaine (GRDU) and cofounded the journal Diversité urbaine. I have published on migration and family, identity, transnationalism, mixedness and on religion and modernity. My most recent work is on religions and religious diversity in today’s Québec.
